Obviously, what makes a clarinet is not the material it’s made of. Through time, clarinets have been made of wood of course, like grenadilla, but also metal, ivory, composite materials, or… carrots 😉
To make a clarinet, what you need is a cylindrical bore and a single reed, no matter what the material is!
